Vitamin D helps reduce the risk of falls associated with postural instability and muscle weakness. Falls are risk factors for bone fractures in men and women over the age of 60. There may be several risk factors for bone fractures, and changes in one of these risk factors may or may not have a beneficial effect. A beneficial effect is achieved by taking 20 Вµg of vitamin D per day from any dietary source.
